Tips to Strengthen Your Application

  1. Maintain excellent grades: Your transcript should clearly show strong performance.
  2. Get recommendation letters from professors who can testify to both your academic skills and character.
  3. Highlight non‑academic contributions: Volunteering, cultural exchange, student clubs, social work etc. This part is important given the requirement for social / intercultural involvement.
  4. Proofread your motivation letter: Why you need this scholarship, how you have engaged socially, what goals you have, etc.
  5. Apply on time, gather all documents well before deadlines. Residence permit, registration certs etc often take time.
  6. Check the eligibility for BAföG: If you are eligible, you cannot get this scholarship — so be sure.
